Noy's Miniatures 1/72 NATO HAS
Apparently Noy's Miniatures' multi-section display areas have done quite well and so here is a look at the most recent offering. It is a NATO HAS entrance with a couple of additional pieces in front of it to represent an apron and taxiway.
The set includes 3 prints (2 base components + 1 backdrop) that depict the inside and outside areas of a contemporary NATO HAS. This one is the 1/72 set but they are all quite similar except for the size.
As you can see from the above image, it provides a very nice backdrop as well as two interlocking base sections. A small portion of the ramp (the light brown bits) is printed on the taxiway section to ensure proper alignment. I have used a fairly large model to illustrate this one, but any Western fighter from the last 40 years would be equally appropriate.
For those wanting a rundown on what's available, here is a listing:
1) Item no. 7230 "NATO HAS": A set of 3 cardstock prints in 1/72 scale. Approx. dimensions of each print: 31 cm / 12.2 inch; 21.9 cm / 8.6 inch.
2) Item no. 4830 "NATO HAS": A set of 3 cardstock prints in 1/48 scale. Approx. dimensions of each print: 39.5 cm / 15.6 inch; 28 cm / 11.02 inch.
3) Item no. 3230 "NATO HAS": A set of 3 plotter-prints in 1/32 scale. Set comes inside a sturdy carton tube and is shipped rolled like posters. Approx. dimensions of each print: 59.3 cm / 23.35 inch; 40 cm / 15.75 inch.
4) Item no. 144030 "NATO HAS": A set of 3 cardstock prints in 1/144 scale. Approx. dimensions of each print: 14.8 cm / 5.8 inch; 10.5 cm / 4.1 inch.
These are a great idea and apparently sell quite well. They are a superb way to show off your model either at home or as a setting in a show.
