Miliscale 'Running In'

This latest product from Miliscale depicts a tarmac surface upon which IAF F-16s are used to run-n their engines after changes or maintenance. The base includes the yellow security area where one needs to stay away to prevent being pulled into the intake, and the area where the arrestor hook is anchored to keep the plane from moving during high-power run-ups. This is typical of Israeli Air Force and other air forces. These photo quality runway sections are printed on high quality card stock and ready to be attached to your favorite backing as an excellent presentation base for your next model subject.

These come in two scales: 1/48 and 1/72

In 1/72 (Milis 72-010-103), the base is 29.5cm/11.61inches by 20.5cm/8.07 inches (A4 size). Plenty large enough for even the biggest jet of the period.

And the big 1/48 base (Milis 48-010-103) is 44cm/17.32inches by 31.5cm/12.4 inches (A3 size).

Of course, these can be cut down to fit any size smaller and one can always use an appropriate photo frame as a basis for these.

In reality, you could use this runway base for just about any aircraft you wish from the time period.

Miliscale also offers the above in packs of three and as part of an assortment of bases in various scales.
