Once
again I stand before you with Phantom Decals.................
Yes, one can't have too many, but.... . Ah never
mind...
Crazy
Don
was kind enough to pick up TwoBobs set 48-176 F/4F Press to Test “Elefant”, at
the US NATS last August. The decal sheets (2 a5 sized sheets and a smaller
insert) are for one F-4F.
(Only a scan of the insert was provided. Ed)
The kick is that it’s for a bright orange
Phantom. Orange I hear you say? Yes, RAL 2000 orange.
The
Phantom was painted in this colour for the 50th
anniversary of the WTD61, roughly translated a Test and Evaluation unit of the
Bundesluftwaffe (German Air Force). It was displayed alongside its orange
counterpart, a Tornado. Both these aircraft are depicted in Smoke Trails Vol 16,
no. 4.
As usual, the decals are printed by MicroScale
and are very nicely printed, with a minimum of carrier
film. They are the usual TwoBobs standard.
The
principle colors are RAL 2000
Orange
(Lifecolor)
and black (FS 37038), given in
TestorsMM, Humbrol, Gunze and Xtracrylics.
The recommended kits are the usual kits that are on the market, such as
The Hasegawa F-4E/F and such are the aftermarket sets.
I can recommend this sheet to all those
interested in the F-4 Phantom II (and I know that there are a few of out out
there…)
Ps this review copy
was courtesy of my wallet, with a thank you, once again, to
Crazy Don
for picking them up for me. And Bob Sanchez, if you read this, my soul is still
out there somewhere
