Russian Text

The magazine under review is Tank Master No 3 2000, published in Russia al I can translate is the following details, Tank Master, 125057, Moscow, A -57, Russia, Tel 095 285 2018. Published in Russian text only. Costs will vary from country to country.

Published in the now familiar format of A4 portrait and on very high quality paper it contains in its 50 pages the following articles.

Comments on the contents to certain articles.

Like all Russian publications, which are only published in Russian, the reviewer has to be able to interpret the photographs and drawings, which need no translation.

So with that in mind, I will go to say that the photographs on the R35 originally came from the German evaluation of captured tanks. Not only were the tanks stripped down to gain knowledge of the materials but also the engineering involved. Lastly to train the German troops on maintenance of the type. The I base my assumption on, the fact that the tanks in the photographs still have the early French camouflage. All those taken into service were repainted.

This set of photographs will be of particular interest to those who wish to build the internals and engine details.

The article on the Waffentrager is entirely the opposite for it comprises not only of captured SP's but the test and evaluation of them in action. I must admit I had very little on file on this vehicle and this article even though I cannot read it has increased my knowledge immensely. I did not know that there were at least 4different types and that they saw action. As two of the photographs clearly show damaged ones in the streets late on in the war. Along with the plans and photographs this article will enable modellers to scratch build at least one if not all four types. A total of 26 photographs and 1 set of plans and side elevations along with stowage plans make up the article.

The cost of the magazine is well worth it for these two articles alone. Every other article that is covered is a bonus.

I recommend it very highly, go out and buy your copy now before it is too late.
