The magazine under review is Tankograd No 9 July 2000, published by Jochen Volert The Tankograd Gazette, Ullitzstrasse 11, 95183 Trogen, Germany.
Published on A4 portrait high quality paper it has on average 24 pages crammed full of new and original research mainly by the editor Jochen. The text is in English and prices vary from country to country but on average in the UK about £6-50 per copy.
The following subjects are covered in this edition.
This edition contains the following 52 high quality black and white photographs, with one set of 1/35-scale plans. 15 side elevations of the various types of vehicles, and two data charts.
Comments on the above items, as one can see Jochen tries to cover all periods and countries but leaning towards Russian equipment and the end user.
The vast majority of photographs are published for the first time. Using his original manual resources to illustrate a point on the article. This compliments the articles and adds to the final rounding up of an article.
All the plans and drawings are of an out standing quality and again are original.
To pick out one to illustrate this the 8 side profiles on the BTR 80 Unsh. He has not only shown the relevant points in the drawings but also highlighted them with text. It is possible to build the models straight from this information alone.
I recommend this series of magazine very highly so go out and buy them now for this may be the only time a particular subject is in print, as they say miss it miss out. I know I will not.
