NOTES:

First Look:

Published on high quality glossy paper in A4 portrait format, with 48 pages crammed full of black and white photographs and diagrams.

The subjects covered are as follows:

The Russian Front 11th 13th July 1943 Prokhorovka area, A photomontage of the actual battle taken from combat stills. Improvised field mountings for field guns to be turned into anti aircraft guns from the Ist WW to the 2nd WW. Panzer 11 Swim Tank photomontage again plus scale plans in 1/35. Panzer 111 converted into a SU 122 SP by the Russians 1/35 plans and sketches. T 34 pressed turret workshop drawings and photomontage. The German Stick Grenade from 1st WW to the 2nd WW. Lastly Russian Armoured Trains WW1.

It manages to cram into its 48 pages, 76 very high quality black and white photographs plus 14 sketches in black and white and 3 plans and lastly one map. All the photographs are captioned in Russian and English.

The vast majority of the photographs have never been seen in the west and to pick out 2 in particular. On page 19 No 13 it shows a ZIS 3 mounted on a wooden frame to give it greater elevation. The second is the PZ11 on page 23 No 2, which show's the Pz 11 backing up under the floatation, chamber. These two are worth the price of the book alone. Since this is the first magazine I have been able to review, I feel that it has set it's self a very high standard and is to be congratulated on a job well done.

In conclusion the only draw back is that it is printed in Russian. I would like to have been able to read all the text to the articles. If only the publishers would realise that English is the international language of model makers, historians and researchers. If they took the gamble and published totally in English they would increase their sales ten fold.

I look forward to the second edition and many more to come.

Buy yours now before they sell out.
