Russian Text

It is some time since I reviewed a copy of this excellent Russian Magazine. It is one of those, which you wish were published in English. I do feel that the publishers are missing out on what is now world market and they should seriously consider this point. I know I have said it before but the International language of Model Makers, Historians and Researchers in English. It is a hard but inescapable fact made even more so by the Internet.

Published in A4 portrait format on very high quality gloss paper it has 50 pages, which contain the following subjects. Su-152 with original wartime photographs and 1/35 scale plans, A Russian twin engined Bomber this is were the English would help again wartime photographs and 1/72 plans. An article on the Me 410 aircraft and how to super detail it. The Bishop in service in Italy again with wartime photographs and 1/35 scale plans and colour div and unit markings. Lastly an article on the Mig -29 in service with full colour photographs.

So in conclusion is it good value " Yes " with a reservation because it is not in English. I know that plans, drawings and photographs are International and do not need translating. But just sometimes you wish that the article could be read and mentally digested.

If the publishers would start to consider publishing in English, their print run would be increased by at least twofold. It would open up the vast markets in the west to what could be a very highly rated magazine. They have in a short time come a long way since the days of cardboard paper and poor quality photographs. Can they now take the final leap?
