NOTES:

This book is printed in the now familiar format of A4 landscape and on very good quality paper it has 38 pages in full colour. It concentrates on the museums at Latrun and Hatzerim. Personally I only knew about Latrun so the other one is a welcome surprise.

This book is not a direct follow up of part one; it shows the following tanks and b vehicles. Merkava III, M60 Magach, M60 Magach Mk 7 Gimel, Achzarit, Zelda, Ben Gurian, Centurion Mk 5, M10 Achilles, M 4 series, Cromwell, Light Tank Mk Vib, Hotchkiss, 38 and 35, M 5 half track, Marmon Herrington all these are at Latrun. At Hatzerim Museum the following are shown Sherman Kilshon, M 163 Vulcan, M 727 SO Hawk, TCM-20 AA, M36 Keres (Hook), GMC 353 and 352 special vehicles. Kronenburg fire fighting vehicles, Hawk launcher ground mount, and radar systems, S-25 Dvina, ZSU 57 -2 Zil 157 Radar, BRDM-2 ZSU 23 -4, Panhard, Bofors 40 L70, BTR 40.

As you can see by the list above it can only give you a taste of exactly what is contained at these museums. In many aspects I feel it lets its self down by cramming too much into one volume. Had this been spilt into 4 volumes it would have been better.

By contrast the sections on the Vulcan and the TCM -20 AA and also M36 Keres are very well done. And show exactly how good a set of books it could have been.

However do not let this personal point put you off buying this volume it is still a very good book.

It stands as a very good reference book for those who are lucky enough to visit these two fascinating museums. And for those who will never have the chance and need the information for model making. If you have volume one then this will only add to your knowledge of Israeli Armour.

Go out and buy it now, as these volumes are proving very popular.

Many thanks to Frantisek who gave me the advance copy at Scale Model World 2000.
