It is printed on high quality gloss paper
and in A4 portrait format with 80 pages in each edition.
In this second edition it has
concentrated more on full depth articles.
These are the following.
- Tanks are Mighty Fine things
very informative article about the Detroit tank Arsenal and using many
original war time photographs it tells the fascinating story of just how
America tooled up for full scale production.
- The lady indoors opinion on
the collecting and restoring of military vehicles, funny how it seems to be
the same comments for scale modelling.
- An update on the Oshkosh and
the new British Army M 1070f heavy transporter.
- Over Here a regular look at
the Military collecting scenario in America, some very nice colour photos in
this section.
- David Fletcher on the history
of the Churchill Crocodile and he uses many Tank Museum photographs to
illustrate it along with a stowage diagram from the handbook.
- Reno Grande the US Armies post
war M series of trucks, a good many photos of restored and still in as found
condition in scrap yards. Plus a very interesting data chart listing all the
various types and numbers used in the lifetime of this vehicle.

Museum at Bovington Camp, Wareham, Dorset, England.
- An article about an as found
Remote controlled Austin champ and its restoration up to now.
- The story of the Saracen
Armoured car many original photographs and also those of a restored one.
- Photo Intel section a brief
history with photographs of many military vehicles that did not go into full
production for whatever reasons a very fascinating read.
- Just what happened to al those
demobed Jeeps at the end of WW2 here for the first time is a very
interesting article on a very British way of managing the problem and coming
up with some very unusual contraptions and body styles.
- WW2 Duck article again using
original and restored photographs to illustrate this story.
- A look at the original German
Military vehicles that turned up at Beltring last year, and yes there are
several that even I missed in the 8 days.
- The motor pool a brief write
up on the pros and cons of owning military vehicles be they small or huge.
- The restoration of a Gamma
Goat and just what is involved in this monster of a vehicle.
- The DERA 6X6 high mobility
load carrier demonstrator vehicle and the way forward with the next
generation of military vehicles.
- A brief history of the Matador
and just how much is was loved and still is held in high esteem by
collectors.
- A count down to the forth
coming attractions at this years Beltring Military Vehicle rally, know all
over the world as the War and peace show.
The quality of the photographs
is stunning and the articles are written in an easy to follow and enjoyable
format, just the right amount of tech information and plenty of anecdotal.
So if you have read my review
of the Ist edition then this one is even more jam packed full of interesting
and original articles. For me the two that stand out are the Detroit Tank
Plant and the Jeep metamorphosis. Just these two are worth the cover price
alone, every other photograph and snippet of information is a great big bonus.
This magazine is going from
strength to strength in a very short time.
