This contest is one designed to have many of you work outside your comfort zone. If you are not a car builder, this is a great time to give it a try. I think you'll be surprised at how much fun these are. For a working definition, a hot rod is a road car that has been altered in some way for speed. While just about any car can be used for this purpose, for this contest, there will be a few requirements:
1. The car must be based on a production car and no newer than 1954.
2. The subject must be visibly altered in some way, shape or form. It may be something as simple as swapping out a flathead enginve for a modern V-8 and your image has to show this change.
3. You do not need to modify an extant kit as there are plenty of out of the box hot rod kits out there.
4. The car has to be streetable, which means those of you wanting to install a J-79 in a 40 Ford are out of luck. This also means no overt show cars like Cherry Bomb or Rommel's Rod.
If you have any questions, do not e-mail be but post your inquiry on the -Forum-
Be sure to comply with the general rules.
Those entries without the full name of the entrant will no longer be posted.
As with all other contests, if there are doubts and no one can answer your questions, I'll include it, but if I get any e-mails that show it is ineligible, I'll pull it. I will not pull a model after judging has started.
There will be no Display Section.
Awards are fully dependent on what is received. If you wish to help with providing awards, contact me.
